There is a strong relationship at the Giza Plateau between the human body and the space itself where human beings stand in connection to nature and the cosmos. As i perceived and noticed that TIME is the main subject which connect everything at this specific location.

By designing and creating a layout of a space, presented by a circular plan; while it refers to a sundial in which it was used in the old days to indicate time by using a light spot or shadow cast by the position of the sun on a reference scale. Therefore, I took the concept of the sundial for my installation project as a metaphor and link between the sun, the earth and the passage of time.

And by creating five vertical columns -influenced by the ancient obelisk-; one at the center of the circular shape and four by the edge of this outline as points referring to the principal points indicating time and the cardinal directions (compass); with only three different shapes repeated symbolizing the number of the Great  pyramids of Giza.

Those columns represent number of significant deities of the old kingdom which are;

Ra who was the king of the deities and the father of all creation. And by being the patron of the sun and as the obelisks were invented by the kings of the 5th dynasty in reverence to the sun god Ra, I chose it to be the main sculpture form (column) at the middle of the layout symbolized by the sun disk.

Maat was the goddess of truth and she was the representation of the stability of the universe. The symbol I used to represent her is the ostrich feather. Osiris was the god of the underworld and resurrection, symbolized by his Atef crown.

Isis was called queen of gods and she was the goddess of maternity and birth and the sign that represent her is the throne.

And finally, Horus who was the god of heaven, protection and power. And he is represented by the double crown symbolizing light and royalty.

By producing a repetitive production of each form, and start displaying and using them as puzzles by showcasing them with unsystematic and unorganized composition to create a dynamic composition which will help on designing a layout of a new dimension of the space and build an interactive environment between the audience and the space itself.
